I have been a freelance translator and member of the American Translator Association (ATA) since the mid-1980s. I am an ATA-Certified Translator (CT) for Dutch, German, and Croatian into English. I am also a member of the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA).
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I also studied at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. The professional positions I have held include President of the Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters (CATI), chair of the ATA Certification Committee, and member of the ATA Nominating and Leadership Development Committee.
